Thursday we drove 650km from home to a truck stop in between Griffith and Cobar. When it got dark we had to pull over because there were heaps of kangaroos, we almost hit a big one. That night it was freezing in the van it was 0.7deg when we woke up, the van had ice on it and the canvas was frozen stiff.
Friday I could not believe it there was so much road kill, so I started counting there was 45 dead animals in 20 kms. We saw funny goats trying to get up trees and then it was pretty boring not much to see until we hit a massive swarm of locus mum got scared because one splattered right in front of her, then we saw emus on the side of the road. We drove 1000kms from Cobar to Blackall.
Saturday when I woke up mum called me there were geese at our door then i got up and fed them it was cool mum told me that there was a little one so i went and found it the was so cute. The other ones picked on him though. Mum and Dad saw a sculpture, it was an eagle and its nest made out of metal. We went on a guided tour of an old sheep shearing shed which was a woolscour our guide was a man called Beaver. The woolscour runs off steam and it’s where they washed and bagged the wool before it’s sent to the market. Then we saw an artesian bore which was so hot, it burnt my hand. We then drove to Longreach and saw the Qantas museum we had a tour of the 747 it was so BIG . Then we went back to the caravan park had dinner then went into town to watch the sheering sheep competition finals it was awesome.
